4. Nigeria Struggles to Cope With Ebola Outbreak

Ebola has been a deadly disease that has been spreading throughout the poor countries in Africa. Countless people have been dying from this disease for the past months. Health officials were not able to stop this disease from spreading because they were not able to detect it before it grew. One of the biggest reasons that Ebola spread was because new roads were constructed around the region. And the result of having new roads, is more transportation and locomotion. Since people who were infected used these roads, they were able to spread the disease into neighboring countries. One of these countries was Nigeria. Nigeria is one of the African countries that has a somewhat stable economy, which has helped them try to prevent the disease from spreading inside their country. However, researches cannot determine whether or not Nigeria will be able to cop with the ebola outbreak.
To begin her article, Sabrina Tavernise defines Ebola as one of the world's most fatal diseases. She then explains how the disease has been spreading through the African continent. She uses the third point-of-view, and also uses many interviewees (doctors, family of victims, etc.) to make her point clear. She uses a more formal tone in order to address the urgency of this matter. Her article is one that is informative- she informs her readers about Ebola and its symptons and also tells her readers to be aware of what can be happening in the near future to the world (possible pandemic).
