The author begins the article very effectively by
giving information about the current and very devastating events happening in
Gaza. The author claims that this conflict is the deadliest one between Israel
and Palestine that has arose since 2005. More that 2,000 lives have been lost
because of this conflict. Morgan then purposes his thesis about the church in
Gaza, and how it has provided food, shelter, medication, and education to
hundreds of the refugees. Next, the author introduces the interview that was
done with a refugee in one of the churches of Gaza. The questions focus on
Christians, the Israeli-Palestine conflict, and the church. Finally, the author
has a very effective conclusion, formed by the last question of the interview
and the answer. Father Elias Chacour says that If Israel continues in
this conflict, it will effect the Jewish for generations to come and only make
more enemies for them.
This article was very effective in fulfilling its purpose: to inform Christians of the struggle for Christians in Gaza. The author uses a good structure, starting with the information, and explaining the conflict. Morgan then proceeds towards the thesis, telling how the church has been a great help in this time of need. Last, Morgan proposes the questions from an interview with a Christian Father of the church. The questions straightforward, and help to show how life is like for Christians in Gaza. The conclusion is rather abrupt, however the author is effective in explaining the conflict and giving a Christian view of it.
